Kimberly & Matthew | 22.02.2020 Morrell’s Boutique Hotel

You may hold my hand for a while, but you will hold my heart forever.

A caress as gentle as your soul.

When Matt and Kim told me they had decided on two things (this was a year before the wedding); their venue and their photographer - I was beyond delighted. A super sweet couple and and a bucket list venue. What more could a photographer want right? Little did I realise that that simple coffee meet-up would turn into a special friendship where photographer gets to take on the role of the unofficial protective Aunty. Kimmy and Matt are that special. Yes. Really. To be a small part of this magical day was emotional, beautiful and an absolute treasure. A day I know no-one who was there, will forget. Kimmy you got your dream wedding, married your Prince and you made the most perfect Princess Bride. Matt, you got your QUEEN!

Anyone who knows Morrell’s Boutique Hotel (or has even heard of it) knows they are in for an absolute treat if any event is being held there. When we arrived, the sky was grey and the cloud cover was getting darker in its grey hues. This just added to the romantic mood of the day. Morrell’s magically transformed into a fairytale castle with mystical light. The light made the buildings come alive and the greenery became a beautiful saturated green hue that could only be described as a photographers heaven.

The Team at Morrell’s were fantastic and really did such a great job with co-ordination, decor and hosting.

Kimberly and Matthew created so many emotive truly memorable moments throughout the day. The thoughtfulness that each of them put into making the day special for each other was so beautiful to photograph. So let me continue telling you about this magical day through the moments captured.

The gents got dressed in style. A lovely relaxed atmosphere as they shared a drink together and Matthew got to have some portraits taken.

Matthew’s laugh is infectious.

Just before the clouds came tumbling down… Matthew and Kimberly swopped love letters…..

Kim looked absolutely radiant. Her make-up and hair was done to perfection and she was absolutely glowing. Getting ready was a fun-filled affair as we had a little panic with the dress’ zip. Not even us ‘old hats’ wedding vendors were getting this right…..

The say rain on your wedding day is a blessing and will bring your marriage good fortune. The rain decided to bless Kimberly and Matt as Kim started to head toward the chapel….

Rainy wedding blessing

I’ve yet to meet a Groom as beautifully sentimental as Matthew. What he did next was enchantingly emotional. As Kimberly walked under the bell tower, waiting to be ushered in, to her surprise a lone set of bagpipes began to play THEIR favourite song. It was Matthew. The beautiful intimacy of this moment between these two lovebirds as they embarked down the aisle of matrimony gave everyone who witnessed it goosebumps. Mesmerising. The love was truly tangible.

Beautiful Kimberly realising her husband to be was playing for her.

The ceremony was a sweet and emotionally intimate celebration of Kimberly and Matthews union.
